4 Super Easy Room Decor DIYs

I love DIYs. I look through Pinterest, pinning tons and tons of fun activities that I’m confident in. Unfortunately, I am incapable of doing any of these due to both lack of skill and lack of motivation. However, this past weekend I was DETERMINED to come up with DIYs that even the most incompetent of crafters can pull off, and here they are:

1. Grunge Letter Decor

What you need:

  • Wooden/cork letter
  • Spray paint
  • Stick-on jewels

  1. Take the letter into a well-ventilated space and spray paint it.
  2. Let the letter dry (it is okay if it dries weird because it gives a cool grungy look to it.)
  3. Stick on the gem stones in whatever pattern you would like.

BOOM. Done. That wasn’t hard at all, and now you have a piece of room decor that looks like it’s straight out of Urban Outfitters (and you didn’t even have to pay $30 for it!!)

2. Black and White Rose Decoration

What you need:

  • Small bowl
  • Fake rose
  • Stones (preferably black)

  1. Fill the bowl with the stones.img_1233
  2. Cut the stem off of the rose
  3. Put the rose on top of the stones

That was so easy that I’m not even sure if it qualifies as a DIY, but I love the way it looks! *hearteyes*img_1381

3. Candle holder

What you need:

  • Small bowl
  • Stones (preferably colored and slightly translucent)
  • Small candle
  • fullsizerender-2

  1. Put the candle in the bowl.
  2. Put the stones around the candle.

I love how the candle light is reflected by the stones! This makes my room feel so cozy and it took about $5 and 3 minutes to make.

4. Hanging faux-chalkboard decorations

What you need:

  1. Thin wooden hanging decorations with a black center (I found mine at Michaels)
  2. White chalk marker

  1. Draw any design you want on the decorations

This is by far the easiest DIY on this list, and it’s also the most versatile. You can hang them wherever you want, and you can even use them as Christmas ornaments!

I hope that you guys found this post helpful! If you do end up making any of these crafts, please let me know as I would love to see how they turned out. I came up with these just by walking through the aisles of Michaels with a friend, so I recommend that you do the same and see what you can come up with!
